Four Winds invites you to immerse yourself in storytelling through sound, and the timeless connection between community, nature, and the arts. Bunaan Garindja is an event curated for deep listening, uplifted by the voices of our young people. Join us with friends and family to savour delicious food, and relax on the grass beneath the towering gum with exceptional musicians encouraging you to connect and celebrate.

BELL CURVE NOV 03 | Bell Curve is a work created for all-ability musicians including professionals, students and community members with a love for sound.

Re-imaged for the Four Winds site, SPEAK Percussion and Four Winds Create & Inspire Director David Hewitt are presenting Bell Curve as a percussive sound immersion alongside delicious food and time in nature - allowing audiences the space to relax and restore.

Here is a little on how and why David chose this work to be presented at Four Winds 🎶

“We live in a time of great business and distraction. So many options, so much stimulus, so much to think about and often so little time. I love that participating in or witnessing Bell Curve offers the opportunity to slow down, focus, and to listen deeply. A simple gift to ourselves. An act of sonic meditation that allows one the opportunity to contemplate time, space and the subtle beauty of sound and to collectively produce something sonorous and evocative.

SPEAK Percussion and I have a professional artistic relationship that goes back over twenty-five years. They are perenially asking inventive and thought-provoking questions to arrive at wonderous unexpected answers.’

THE NECKS | With their latest album, Bleed, this iconic trio invites you to a captivating long-form exploration of sound inside the Windsong Pavilion.

Bleed features a single, 42-minute composition traversing the ethereal beauty of stillness, decay, and the profound space in between.

Audiences are welcomed into the Windsong with food, drink and a relaxed atmosphere to experience this phenomenal offering.

Not entirely avant-garde, nor minimalist, nor ambient, nor jazz, the music of The Necks is possibly unique in the world today.
