Four Winds Bermagui - Music In Nature

In November 2020 with no live audiences allowed, Four Winds created a festival for its devoted digital audience, in perpetuity…

In a normal year, 850 to 900 kids would converge on the Four Winds site for a mass celebration of musicianship, composition, collaboration, encouragement, song and symphony: the Spring Youth Music Festival.

Due to COVID the 2020 Festival’s Splendid Schools Days were safely taken into the schools themselves, and professional digital video recordings of our region’s young and emerging talent were made in the Windsong Pavilion.

Over a weekend in November 2020, the walls of the Windsong reverberated with music played on instruments ranging from tin whistles to harpsichords, strings to drums, and with voices strong, sweet and proud.

What has transpired is a beautiful collection of videos and images that we share with you here:

We are so proud of our local music leaders and the inspiration they bring to our young musicians throughout the year, particularly in the context of the Youth Festival which gives young people the chance to work in a professional music venue.

David Francis, Executive Director

Thanks go to our Create and Inspire Producer Lara Crew and the team at Four Winds, our coaches and mentors and in particular the Digital First team who spent hours setting up for, rehearsing and recording these pieces. Each of the young participants now have a permanent and professional record of their 2020 Spring Festival experience.

Please enjoy these pieces from our young and developing artists.
