// A LOVE SONG TO THE TATHRA-BERMAGUI ROAD

Produced for the Four Winds Festival 2022

Part creative celebration, part cultural document, part adventure journey, through the dark times of 2021, five teams of artists from our abundantly creative region created a short site-specific performance video inspired by, and performed on, one of the iconic wooden bridges along the Tathra-Bermagui Rd.

The Tathra-Bermagui road is iconic to our region. A much-loved 35km stretch running parallel to the pristine coastline, its winding journey encompasses the Four Winds site, spotted gum forests, coastal vistas, rolling hills and rural farmland.

Along the way are pristine beaches, streams and lakes in national parks, Yuin and settler historic sites and stories, a winery, galleries, charming wooden community halls, and – most memorably – five historic and pleasingly percussive old wooden bridges. Locals know each twist of the road like the back of our hand. For us, the Tathra-Bermagui Road is simply the home stretch. Part creative celebration, part cultural document, part adventure journey, through the dark times of 2021, five teams of artists from our abundantly creative region created a short site-specific performance video inspired by, and performed on, one of the iconic wooden bridges along the Tathra-Bermagui Rd.

Four Winds would like to acknowledge that our site is situated in Djiringanj country.

We recognise that the Djiringanj Elders and Community are and have been instrumental in caring for this country for tens of thousands of years.

We thank them because without their care we would not have this place to enjoy and draw creative inspiration from. An exquisite place in which to create, perform and receive the gift of music and art.

Four Winds looks forward to continuing to work together with our First Nations community, well into the future.
