Pronounced a “real talent” by the Wall Street Journal, and nominee for Limelight’s 2024 Artist of the Year, Australian pianist Andrea Lam performs as concerto soloist, chamber musician, and recitalist. Recently returned to Australia after two decades in New York, Andrea makes her television debut for the ABC in 2025 on The Piano, alongside Grammy award-winning musician Harry Connick Jr. and extraordinary host Amanda Keller. 2025 season engagements include the Sydney Symphony, Melbourne Symphony, Tasmanian Symphony, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra with conductors including Simone Young, Jaime Martin and Sir Donald Runnicles for the Grand Teton Music Festival (USA). Recent performances include the Sydney, Melbourne, Queensland, Tasmanian, Adelaide, New Zealand Symphony Orchestras, New York’s Chelsea Music Festival, Adelaide Festival, Australian String Quartet, Australia Ensemble, Utzon Series, MRC, and a national tour for Musica Viva.

Lecturer in Piano at Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and director on the board of ANAM, Andrea holds degrees from Yale University and Manhattan Schools of Music. Recordings include Mozart concerti with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra; with cellist Matt Haimovitz for Pentatone, as pianist for New York’s acclaimed Claremont Trio, as pianist on the ARIA-nominated album Nocturnes, and the 2024 ABC Classic album Matthew Hindson’s “Sad Piano”.
