Meet GODTET, the project of multi-instrumentalist and acclaimed producer David “Godriguez” Rodriguez. This enigmatic collective of musicians crafts an ambient subgenre, blending improvised beats with folk, electronica, and jazz influences. Every performance is entirely unique, ensuring no two shows are ever the same experience.
Emerging from Sydney’s vibrant underground music scene, GODTET gained attention and developed cult status for their immersive live performances. Reminiscent of cult favourites The Necks, their music unfolds organically, built on textured grooves, hypnotic rhythms, and subtle interplay between musicians. Beyond the stage, they have released six acclaimed recordings, including three full length albums, and a live release of GODTET+ Strings presented by Vivid Sydney. From playing in warehouses to concert halls with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, GODTET’s work reflects a commitment to spontaneity, true collaboration, and pushing the boundaries of contemporary instrumental music.

David Rodriguez (Godriguez)
David Rodriguez, also known as Godriguez, is an Australian multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer recognised for his exploratory approach to contemporary music. Best known as the founder and driving force behind the instrumental collective GODTET, David has been a force in the Sydney jazz and beat scene for over 15 years. He was nominated for the Jazz Freedman award and is currently the Jazz Program Lead at Wollongong Conservatorium.
Rodriguez has built a reputation for creating immersive, genre-defying soundscapes, both in live performance and recorded work. His collaborative ethos has seen him work across a range of musical contexts, including contributing to acclaimed releases such as The Great Mixtape by Sampa the Great.
Jan Bangma
Jan Bangma has performed and recorded across Australia and internationally. His broader work has included Boy & Bear, New Venusians and the Lachy Doley Group, alongside a wide range of artists from Sydney’s jazz, soul and independent music scenes.
Tully Ryan
Arguably one of Sydney’s most prolific drummers, Tully Ryan has performed with a wide range of artists and ensembles from Hekka, Harvey Sutherland and four time ARIA award nominated artist Ngairre. Best known for his adventurous work with the genre-defying ensemble Godtet, Ryan’s rhythmic depth and fluidity anchor and propel improvisational frameworks with both precision and energy.
Andrew Bruce
Andrew Bruce is an Australian pianist and longtime collaborator with Ngaiire, contributing to her distinctive, forward-thinking sound. He is also a member of Broken Mountain, an experimental project blending electronic textures with improvisation. As part of GODTET, he brings harmonic depth and textural nuance to the group’s fluid, improvisation-led performances.
