Following the afternoon performances on Saturday and Sunday, the pond in front of the Sound Shell is the departure point for Silent Forest, an open-air meditation experience in the surrounding bushland, within easy walking distance. Your guide is former Adelaide Symphony Orchestra Managing Director and experienced meditation practitioner Rainer Jozeps, who invites us to meditate on the concept of change, something we have all experienced in this last year:

These  guided meditations seek to re-connect us with the ancient, omnipresent sounds of nature, providing a moment for reflection, contemplation, stillness and peace. Sunset represents the end of a day, and simultaneously the beginning of the night. Buddhists call this a ‘bardo’, a place/moment of transition or change: day to night, life to death, endings to beginnings and so on….

Each participant will be supplied with a personal headset, allowing the group to spread out among the trees while still enabling Rainer, as your guide, to speak quietly and with some intimacy to everyone. Please wear comfortable shoes to walk to the meditation site (an easy walk, around 10 minutes both ways) and clothes you can lie down in on the forest floor.

“The soul becomes dyed with the colour of its thoughts.”
