A workshop for lute teachers, young professionals and lute enthusiasts alike. Explore historic interpretation and performance practise on the lute and early plucked string instruments with the world’s preeminent lutenist Jakob Lindberg. Over two and a half intensive days you will have a chance to participate in one-on-one Masterclasses, an Introduction to Accompanying on the Lute, a Lute song session, a presentation of a research paper and ensemble playing. Both Participant and Observer enrolments welcome.
Jakob Lindberg – Biography
Jakob Lindberg, from Djursholm in Sweden, was inspired first by the Beatles. After studying music at Stockholm University he went to London where he worked on lute repertoire with Diana Poulton at the Royal College of Music and succeeding her as Professor of Lute.
Jakob has made numerous solo recordings but is also an active continuo player on the theorbo and arch lute, having worked with many well-known English soloists and ensembles.
It is particularly through his live solo performances that he has become known as one of the finest lutenists in the world today, with concerts from Tokyo and Beijing in the East to San Francisco and Mexico City in the West.
$385 – This includes two 40 minute individual Masterclasses with Jakob Lindberg; as well as participation in all ensemble classes, workshops and lecture over the two and a half days. Registrations include lunch and morning tea for Monday 22 – Wednesday 24 April, as well as Welcome Dinner on Monday 22 April 2019 at Windsong Pavilion.

One Day Pass Participant:
$150 – Participation in one single day only (Monday 22 April or Tuesday 23 April). Includes participation in ensemble and group classes; observation of Masterclasses and lecture. Registrations include lunch and morning tea.
Session Observer Ticket:
$20 per session. Tickets will be released closer to date – please refer to Four Winds website. Session times are still to be confirmed. Includes observation of either a Masterclass; research paper; ensemble class or workshop. There will be two sessions available each day.
